The scope of electrical work
Electrical work in a facility spans three layers: distribution (main and sub-boards, protective devices), containment and cabling (cables, conduit, trays, terminations), and final loads (lighting, sockets, equipment supplies).
A defect in the first layer propagates into everything above it. A breaker with the wrong rating, or a loose termination in a main board, may show no symptoms for months and then appear abruptly as repeated tripping, a hot spot, or something worse. That is why any intervention starts with a review of the board and its loads before moving to the symptom that prompted the call.
Distribution and control panels
Panel work covers new installation, modification when loads are added, and scheduled servicing of existing boards. Servicing here is not just cleaning: it includes re-torquing terminations (which loosen through heating and cooling cycles), checking protective devices, measuring load on each phase, and confirming the load is balanced across phases.
Phase imbalance is common in facilities that added equipment in stages without revisiting the distribution. The result is one phase running near its limit while another sits nearly idle, which raises losses and causes breakers to trip at lower loads than expected. The remedy is usually redistribution, requiring no new equipment.
Control panels serving specific machinery — motor starters, thermal protection, start/stop circuits — fall within the electromechanical maintenance scope as well, because faults there usually sit on the boundary between panel and machine.
Cabling and containment
Installation work begins with selecting the right conductor size for the load and the run length: undersized cable heats and suffers voltage drop, oversized cable is cost without benefit. We size against the actual expected load rather than a general rule of thumb.
During installation we keep power routes separated from control and data routes to avoid interference, and we number cables and document routes — a step that gets skipped constantly and costs substantial time at every subsequent maintenance visit, when nobody can say what a given cable feeds.
Lighting systems
Lighting combines function with running cost. On a factory floor, light level directly affects work quality, error rates and worker safety. In an office it affects comfort and the electricity bill.
We install, modify and maintain industrial, office and external lighting, including replacing older systems with LED. That replacement in particular has a calculable return: we set out the difference in connected load and operating hours so the decision rests on numbers rather than a general recommendation.
We also cover emergency lighting and exit signage — safety-linked items that need to be serviceable at the moment they are needed, not merely on the day they were installed.
Periodic inspection and safety
Periodic electrical inspection catches what normal operation hides: hot spots at terminations, degraded insulation, protective devices that will not operate when required, inadequate earthing. None of these announce themselves until they become an incident.
Earthing in particular deserves separate review in older facilities or ones that expanded gradually, because it was often executed correctly at the outset and then lost its effectiveness through later additions.
Supply alongside execution
Cables, breakers, switches, sockets, luminaires and panel components are supplied within the same project. The advantage is not only price but conformity: what arrives is what the technician who surveyed the site specified against the actual loads, rather than the nearest available substitute.
